Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - West Sumatra Provincial Government will maximize tourism potential promotion at the peak of 2018 National Press Day (HPN) which will be held in the area on February 9, 2018.
"More than 3,000 journalists from all over Indonesia will attend this event," Head of West Sumatra Tourism Office Oni Yulfian stated in Padang on Monday (Sept 11).
According to him, a number of leading tourist destinations in several districts and cities will be prepared to welcome participants of 2018 HPN.
"Participants are likely only two or three days in West Sumatra, it is impossible to visit all destinations, we aim for making destinations ready," he explained.
Preparedness, according to him such as the cleanliness of toilet, a fine parking system and the inclusion of food prices in culinary centers.
Oni said it would coordinate with regencies and municipalities related to readiness and it will divide the route of HPN participants visit according to regional readiness.
In addition to destination readiness, West Sumatra Tourism Office will record cultural and artistic activities that can be displayed on HPN moment.
We will try to explore cultural and artistic activities that are closer to HPN, if possible, the timing is shifted to coincide with February 7, 8 or 9, 2018," he continued.
That, it is important to do because the potential of West Sumatra tourism is not only nature tourism, but also the arts and cultures are alluring so it needs to be explored in order to attract interest of HPN participants.
"We hope, HPN participants will be moved to write his experience while visiting tourist destinations and enjoy local cultural arts," Oni said.
Earlier, responsible person or Chairman of Committee of HPN 2018 who daily as Chairman of Central PWI, Margiono give such comment at the launch of West Sumatra HPN 2018, in Jakarta, Sunday night.
He said the HPN themed is "Meminang Keindahan di Padang Kesejahteraan" which will be done by various activities before the peak day on February 9, 2018.
According to him, the beauty of nature, culture, culinary and the history of nation, to this day are still not a priority of people's attention to visit, because it needs effort to push it, one of them through the Indonesian press community. (cha)
